Liverpool's homes change street by street. Here is what we look at before we fit anything.
Common across Anfield, Walton, Kensington and Wavertree. Rear yards are small and back entries are shared, so we normally mount the outdoor unit on a bracket on the rear wall, clear of the alleyway, and keep the pipe run short and neatly trunked.
In the Baltic Triangle, the Ropewalks and along the waterfront, most buildings need written consent from the freeholder or managing agent before an outdoor unit goes on a balcony or wall. We supply the details they ask for, including unit size and noise levels.
Georgian streets such as Rodney Street and Canning Street, and the villas around Sefton Park, sit in conservation areas and some are listed. External units may need consent there, so we check before quoting and keep equipment out of sight wherever we can.
Homes in Woolton, Allerton, Childwall, West Derby and Crosby usually have room for a simple, tidy installation. A single room typically takes 4 to 6 hours, so it is finished in a day.
Heating as well as cooling. Liverpool's coastal climate means winters are usually mild, which is exactly when an air-to-air heat pump works most efficiently. Many customers use their system as the main heat source for a home office, bedroom or extension, and only run the boiler for the rest of the house.
Close to home. We are based on New Chester Road in Wirral, a short trip through the Mersey tunnels, so Liverpool is part of our everyday patch. Bookings need at least one week's notice, and most repair call-outs are attended within 24 hours.
